Gorgeous book, my favourite of all time. This is a book that I was fairly certain I would like before commencing it. I was right, but it was incredible, better than even I was expecting, tragic and heartbreaking with all the realitiess of this war laid bare.  It is witty, honest and entrenched in its history.
