Bottle of Lies: The Inside Story of the Generic Drug Boom by Katherine Eban
5.0
Disturbing in so many respects. This account is a glaring illustration of the festering corruption political intrigue engenders the world over. Who cares about the value of human life when another dollar's on the line?
It's disgusting and inexcusable. Not only the blatant devaluation of health, safety, and any modicum of integrity--but the reprehensible idea that the lives of certain groups are inherently worth less than others. Something has to change.
We, as a people, are long overdue for an overhaul of the systems that were meant to protect us, now infested with duplicitous leaders proudly reigning from their bastions of iniquity. It is not one country's problem. It is all of ours, and it affects all of us.
