Emma by Jane Austen is very slow paced as it follows the protagonist Emma as she experiences the trivialities of everyday life.  In spite of the slow pace, I believe this makes the book all the more interesting as it forces you to become highly familiar with the characters to craft a deep understanding of them.
As you follow Emma throughout the novel, her insight and thoughts keep this read constantly enthralling.
Overall, I really enjoyed this novel, but I do understand that it may not be enjoyable to all due to the length and slow pace.
