Beasts of Ruin by Ayana Gray

4.0

This was such a brilliant sequel to the first book that i just couldn’t put down.

The story picks up right where we left it and you are fully immersed back into the world from the very start of the book. The writing is just beautiful and vibrant and alive, you truly feel like you are there with the characters. I enjoyed the different povs, I think it kept the book interesting as we didn’t linger with one character for too long. I also really like the abundance of new characters we were introduced to in this novel.

The only part that I struggled with getting through was the middle bit as I felt it dragged on a little but other than that, this is a solid second book. It definitely ends on a cliffhanger which i was not expecting at all as i thought the series was a duology and therefore was expecting everything to be wrapped up and finished in Beasts of Ruin but it wasn’t. I am definitely looking forward to the next book and seeing how it all ends.
