The overlapping stories of three generations of women with difficult relationships between mother and daughter leaves a lot to be covered in one novel. Added onto that are the interwoven stories of those nearby and there is a lot going on in this book. The stories were all interesting but the sheer number means that none of them are really examined in depth.
