Sex, Lies and Sensibility
by Nikki Payne
medium-paced
🫶🏻BEAR🫶🏻 - a fabulous Golden Retriever MMC. I *love* him!!
Beyond Bear as a character, I think I’d probably enjoy this more if I’d read Sense & Sensibility more recently. As is, the connection to Austen feels wicked forced, and the dialogue combination of modern Baltimore with Ye Olde Shakespearean England is weird (ie using “Gma” (in speech?? Weird.) all the time, and TL/DR a bunch)
Will revisit Austen and give this another shot.
