People We Meet on Vacation is a friends to lovers romance story. It follows Poppy and Alex through their friendship journey, their friendship breakup, and finally their romance beginning.
Unfortunately, I did not really connect with the main character Poppy, and because of that I was not invested in her success. Her best friend Alex seemed to put up with a lot of her antic even though it was not something he really enjoyed, that made her annoying to me rather than endearing. I really loved Alex’s character, probably because I was able to connect with him and he is more like me. Selfishly I wish this had been from his perspective. Overall, this was a good romance with a nice slow burn. However, it was not my favorite trope, setting, or character so it made it hard to love completely.
