This is an example of a book that has a specific list of topics that it's trying to discuss (eating disorders, discovering your sexuality, and questioning of one's religion) but does it in a seamless and natural manner. Broder utilizes each character (no matter how small) to be an important part of moving the plot along while also allowing for our characters' true colors to shine through.
