Samantha Young has once again taken captive of my heart. I have been a fan of her books for over ten years, and I'm so glad I get to experience her writing and characters. Among the Heather is the 2nd book of The Highlands series, and I loved it better than the first book! Even though it's a sequel, it can be read as a standalone, but I still recommend reading the prior books to get a better glimpse of each character's background.
This story revolves around Aria and North. Aria returns in this follow-up story as the manager of a private hotel specifically geared toward celebrities and Hollywood elites. It's secluded away in the hills of Scotland. North is an actor hiding away in Scotland from all the Hollywood gossip. The two start off on the wrong foot and find themselves in a battle of wits with that underlying attraction. As soon as I picked up this book, I knew I would love it. North stole my heart. I loved his charisma, his honesty, and compassion, and I enjoyed that he was not the typical Hollywood playboy. He knew what he wanted, and he wanted her. Aria is a strong heroine, and I truly enjoyed her development from timid to fierce business owner. Their passion radiated off each page, and the spice was just right. I absolutely melted while reading this story, and it was all the feels!! Highly recommend!
