Attack on Titan, Volume 16 by Hajime Isayama

1.0

I didn't like the anime and hoped that perhaps if I continue reading where I stopped watching the anime, that I might find it more enjoyable (I actually stopped in season 4 and not 3, but I decided to read a bit sooner to get the connection of it again and to remember the story again as it is a few years back now that I watched the anime).

At first I thought I started to dislike it 'cause of the complexity, but I understood everything. Probably I started to dislike it as the plot changed and more plottwists came, and the story and genre led to somewhere I didn't find interesting any longer. For example, in volume 16 (this one) was a really gross scene of a man being naked and hanging upside down with something inside his buttocks, where one of the characters say that they are only allowed to eat through this and not through the mouth any longer. It became disgusting and I disliked a lot of characters from the start, even some most people liked, and the further the story got the more characters got introduced, the more I disliked it.

Others might find it enjoyable, the majority does and the character development and plot is interesting. Even though I didn't like it myself, I might actually recommend it to someone who I know will like it.
