lizella 's review for:
The Lords of the North
by Bernard Cornwell
I've come to realize that Tom Sellwood is at least half of the reason I have enjoyed listening to the audiobooks of this series so much. He captures the tone of Uhtred so well that you don't realize how much is being communicated to you through his characterization until you listen to another rendition.
I won't say that there are any huge surprises in this continuation of the tale if you have already read other books in this series, but it holds its own in the continuation of Uhtred's journey. We know that he will survive since he is telling us this tale from the safe distance of his old age, but it is fun to see where the twisting road of his destiny will take him. This series is a bloody adventure worthy of a good season-long story arc show on premium cable.
