The atmosphere was fantastic, and the descriptions of monsters truly spooky and grotesque and occasionally a little funny (which somehow didn’t contradict the spookiness).
Would recommend highly as an alternative road trip book.
I enjoyed reading something with a sapphic relationship just very casually the primary one, more of this in fiction please.
It had some interesting parallels with movement building, raising awareness of modern societal issues, creating positive social change etc - and I think this was intentional. Wasn’t expected but very welcome and added to the experience of the book for me.
I loved reading this all the way through, but felt the ending was great but just left me feeling a little unsatisfied. This might be down to it being a podcast originally, and I would still recommend the book as it was absolutely a 4-star read for me.
