Secondborn
by Amy A. Bartol
This book is nothing more than a derivative work of The Hunger Games (and books of similar ilk). It brings nearly nothing new to the table and is...let's say "heavily inspired" by the tropes established in The Hunger Games. You have the standard disenfranchised female protagonist that's set upon by The Big Bad Gubment. You have politicking and backstabbing and, of course, you have your passionate (yet unrequited) love interest.
There's nothing inherently bad about this book, but there's also nothing particularly good, either. If you've read The Hunger Games, you've basically read this book.
