3.5 stars. This was way better than I expected. I didn’t expect Chad and Bailey to be so sweet with each other. Their connection was special from the start and it really wasn’t a fuck buddy situation at all. They caught feelings and couldn’t stop thinking about each other. It was pretty lovely.
I thought Chad was a total sweetheart. I loved how confident and open he was, speaking his mind and owning everything he was. No macho bullshit. He was precious and real. Bailey was also great; he was the more analytical kind but also true to his emotions fairly early on. I had a very clear picture of both these characters, they were memorable, which is more than I can say about most frat boy characters.
Rating might go up on a future reread, because I’m pretty sure I’ll be returning to this one. Maybe then I’ll relax and enjoy it more than this time when I was busy worrying that something would go to shit. (Spoiler alert: it really didn’t.)
