Assigned a Mate by Grace Goodwin
3.0

Overall, it's not bad for what it is. I've read similar storylines before - Earth woman needing to hide out for a while and deciding to do it by joining some kind of program to mate an alien. I do think this is one of the most well-written of the troupe. It starts out pretty steamy as well; although, the spanking is a bit overdone, in my opinion.

Unfortunately, the plot just doesn't progress well. The beginning and the initial meeting of the H and h was fine, and then there was a little miscommunication disagreement thing over the use of the word 'harem'. A bit silly, but I could deal because the flow was good.

But then Eva saves some people because apparently doctors on that planet can't do anything with big injuries...

And immediately after, Eva and Tark realize they love each other (after three days together)...

And then immediately after that, Eva needs to get beamed back to Earth and they have this ridiculously overdramatic goodbye because she says she has to do what's "honorable" even though she wants to stay...

There's just no lead up to any of these things, so it all feels a bit jammed together and overly cheeseball. I also have no idea why Eva, after claiming to want to be with Tark, goes into Witness Protection on Earth for a while after the trial because she's still in danger instead of just going immediately back to Trion.

The back end of this just didn't feel as planned as the first part. The writing was good, so I'd be ok continuing with the series, I just hope the story flow gets a bit better.
