It says a lot about me that this book is now one of my favorites, doesn't it? You know, considering that one of the main plot points is the main character having depression and going to a mental institution....
Anyhow, the writing style is just so poetic and the feminist undertones, or more overtones, let's be honest, are really refreshing if you've spent the majority of the last few months reading books written by old white men.
Also getting complimented by an English teacher for reading this book adds so much more enjoyment to it.
So yeah, overall I'd highly recommend reading this book, but take the trigger warnings seriously because some of it isn't really that fun, but if you're fine with that stuff then it's a great read and will definitely make you feel like a strong independent woman who don't need no man.
