It was a good book. It wasn't bad at all. But after a series like aggtm u have high expectations and it just didn't meet it quite right.  Firstly when I started the book I was not intrigued enough to keep going, a lot of the times the book wud flatten out, and the last 40-50 pages were way too rushed. Not once did reading this book give me the feeling of the book being "unputdownable" unlike aggtm. But ofc I still read it in 2 days because even an avg holly Jackson book is a fucking good book.
The way she plays with words is crazy. I was excitrd the entire read. And the plot was so good. The twists were crazy and so was the anticipation. It was just as much a rollercoaster rides as any of her other books. It's never the mystery component in her books that cuz a low rating its the other things. But it didn't not hit the "aggtm first 2 books mark" hence it cannot be a 4 but a 3 is too low for such a good book.
It wud defo be recommend it to others but it just didn't hit the mark right.
Also this was supposed to be her debut in adult novels but really if jet had be 17 instead of 27 the plot wudnt have been that much different. So that's not a great start. This book felt just like any other YA novel. But it's just a debut so maybe things wud change in the future. Only time cud tell..
But that currently leaves me in a weird spot with holly Jackson because the latest 2 books haven't been up to par, or aleast for me.
