Vampire Knight, Vol. 1 by Matsuri Hino
2.0

I picked this up because my 25 year old self suddenly remembered that her 15 year old self used to like to read manga. I thought "Hmm. I love vampires and books with pictures, so why not?!?" Yeah... it didn't go as planned. The art is really pretty. That is the best part of this book.

My problem with Vampire Knight is that it just feels juvenile and is extremely repetitive. The reader does not need reminded every 5 pages (literally) that the day class is separate from the night class with identical balloons and text! This was an incredibly easy read, only taking probably less then an hour total to go through. I just don't think I'll be going back for more. There was so little that actually happened in this one that I couldn't see taking the time to read through all the sequels. I don't have too much knowledge of other manga to compare this too, but just on my opinion alone I say skip it and try something else unless you are 12 and then this might be your thing, and that's fine. xD
