Golden Boy: A Murder Among the Manhattan Elite by John Glatt

4.0

I love to read about the lifestyles of the rich and famous. This guy had it all, but is so obviously mentally ill that he threw it all away. Mental illness is real, and I think sympathy is lacking in general. Everyone should be held accountable for their actions, but the extend of that accountability needs to depend on their mental health. I believe this family avoided the schezoid dx because I think they were afraid that he couldn’t come back from that, instead calling it anxiety, ocd etc. I think this only hurt everyone involved. I have a family member who suffers from this - super sad and sometimes scary.
