An important part of the vaccine debate, this book lays out clearly the evidence and timeline behind Andrew Wakefield’s fraudulent paper that sparked the anti-vax movement.
I grew up in fundamentalist evangelical circles and anti-vax sentiments were on the rise when I was a child. Reading this book helped me understand why people got caught up in the whole thing. The role of the media in spreading and exposing is an interesting (and upsetting) duality.
Four stars since some of the early book is a little bit confusing in terms of the timeline and some of the science is a little dense, but in general, a fascinating and upsetting and important book.
