I wasn’t sure I was going to finish a few times but I am glad I did. Story jerks you around between heroism of a stalker, spicy/ kinky- unsettling sex, unsolved murder mystery , more murders, back to the heroism with the “stalker” , starts to make sense, goes all to hell and then of course now I need to read the 2nd one because I’m invested and need to know if Z ends up being a hero after all. 
Just checked out trigger warnings for 2 and I’m a little concerned.  I didn’t even read them for this one but I think you should. 
It’s dark - IMO
