Looking for Alaska by John Green

3.0

I can't put my finger on it, but there is something about this book that keeps me from loving it. I found the portion of the book where Miles is pining away for Alaska much like a typical coming of age book, but the portion of the book that questions death and intentions was very compelling. The book for me was about trying to learn how to deal with our own existence and the role other people play in our existence and the role we play in others existence. The musings on the Great Perhaps and how do we get out of the labyrinth of suffering were the best parts of this story.
