This book is very difficult to read from subject matter and also the fact it's told from a little girls point of view. This is a wild, sad, emotional, somewhat happy book! I really enjoyed the emotional rollercoaster this sent me on (I might be weird for that one lol) This story reminded me of my grandmother's life growing up with an abusive father who drank and her telling me that her mom, brothers and sisters would have to run out of the house to hide in the woods all the time. This story was a bit different than that, but still reminded me of the horrors little kids and babies should never have to go through
