The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

5.0

i first read this book when i was 11 years old, i had to read it for school. back then i did not understand it - i didn't even want to. it was sad. i knew it had a deeper meaning, but i didn't want to read it at all.

it was last year that i finally decided to re-read it. i was older and sadder with more experience with humans and growing up. i read it in about two hours in a winter evening, and by God, i cried my soul out.
i understood it because i was ready to understand it: ready to see beauty in sad things.

i read it for the third time today.
this book has a very special place in my heart now. it encourages me to live the way i feel to be right - the way i see beautiful.

in conclusion, i don't think it's necessarily a good idea to make kids read it at a young age (this, of course, is only my personal experience), but i do think it is a perfect book for teenagers, especially when sad and lost.

look at the stars and laugh, for you are not alone ❤️
