Probably the best Wheel of Time entry so far. The Aiel getting the spotlight was super intriguing. Lots of interesting depth added to the world through learning about their culture. Perrin also continues to be by far my favorite character. Him and Faile really shine with their plot in this book. Especially in the latter half of the novel.

The major negative I have for this novel is how bored I was with Nynaeve and Elayne's plotline. I wasn't ever invested enough until their final chapter when they finally did something. But I will say, I'm now seeing Nynaeve as a future favorite character. She's become more enjoyable.

Looking forward to the next book!

Edit: Just a few weeks after finishing it, this book has aged very well. Particularly Elayne and Nynaeve's plotline which I was bored with. This is a very, very good book.

Update 9/25/23: Bumping this down to a 4 star. Still enjoyable, but much of the Wheel of Time series has soured as time passes.
