I really debated on DNF and had to push myself to page 239.  I thought how can this be loved by so many, but maybe people just need an overall feel good book.  To me, too saccharine, too unbelievable.  Some characters were so cliche, like Peg, Pete and Col.  The parrot has the best lines.  Some of the phrases were very contemporary that really bugged me.  I just don’t see all the fuss.
