This is the second book in a duet.  And I liked it.  But I liked our Savage Song better.  Kate has left Verity and been living in Prosperity for 6 months.  Prosperity is supposed to be monster free, but it isn’t.  So she is hunting monsters.  And then she comes across something she hasn’t seen before and accidentally sends it to Verity.  So now she has to go back.

August has been trying to save Verity along with he FTF.  He’s given up much of his humanity and become what the situation needs to become.  He has lost a chunk of himself.

Once the two are back together, they take on the Chaos Eater in hopes of saving them all.  Because if not, there will be no humans left.  Only monsters.
