As someone with a lot of interest in NASA but not a lot of knowledge, this was a really interesting and approachable listen. Mike Massimino comes off as super likable as we follow his journey to becoming an astronaut and his experiences on his two flights to service Hubble. It's no surprise that he's done a ton of PR for NASA and guessed starred on The Big Bang Theory a handful of times!
I love stories about people finding their place and their people, so think I was most surprised and touched by Massimino's drive to be a part of the camaraderie among the people at NASA. I'm sure there are plenty of egos, and he does acknowledge that, but as he jokes that “very few jerks have ever been to space." Communities that form outside of religion and sports always fascinate me.
