BIG thanks to Netgalley and to Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine, for an ARC of Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries (Book One of the Emily Wilde Series) by Heather Fawcett.

If you could read Evie’s notes/diary (from the mummy AKA my favorite movie) but make it Fae complete with a quick talking male read, You have this book. As an academic, I love the author’s use of footnotes (the last time I loved footnotes it was Kevin Kwan’s crazy rich Asians series, and this is VERY similarly used) Overall this is a very cozy low stakes adventure with an academic stroke and a touch of romance.  I will be reading book 2.
