When I read this book’s synopsis, I was really interested to read the end results. And wow, I have no words. It was an absolute roller coaster. I was expecting Edna Fisher to wield the sword and kill Red. However, I was not expecting multiple plot twists from the people she was friends with to Red being her son.
I was also not expecting the kiss between Benjamin and Kiernan. When Kiernan got seriously injured, I thought he would not make it. I thought it would be like the movie scene when someone dies in another person’s arms as they watch sobbing. Fortunately, Kiernan survived.
I like this book since the topic of magic has a special place in my heart. Added bonus for dragons. Besides that, the author does a really good job of developing the characters and also writing the story from the perspective of multiple characters.
Moderate: Violence, Blood
Minor: Fire/Fire injury
