Dark and Stormy Knights: A Paranormal Fantasy Anthology by Deidre Knight, Carrie Vaughn, Vicki Pettersson, Rachel Caine, Ilona Andrews, Lilith Saintcrow, Shannon K. Butcher, P.N. Elrod, Jim Butcher

4.0

I read this strictly because I have been wanting to read Ilona Andrews for a while, and I found this anthology at the library. The best part is her story was the most memorable of them all for me, and I enjoyed the writing and storyline.

Immediately, the reader gets the impression that Kate Daniels is a badass, and once she takes on a one-night bodyguard job it becomes a proven fact that she's nobody to mess with.

I was intrigued by what seems to be Russian mythology within the plot of the story, and I need to remember to look up some of the terms mentioned (like volkhvi, which are said in the story to both be bad news and servants of pagan gods) because I'm curious about the origin of those terms and concepts.

I need to buy myself the Kate Daniels series so I can read it, 'cause this story made me want to read about Kate's adventures more than ever.
