What an ending! 

There are a lot of reviews that say that they did not like the sudden change in POV two thirds of the the way through the book, and I get. The switch to a profanity laden Lowry is jarring and off-putting. He's an off-putting dude, we already knew this from the series. Nevertheless, if you stick with it, you then follow Lowry into Area X and its some of the most batshit moments of the series. It was so fucking weird and I am 100% here for it.

I loved this series, so glad I read them. I hope there's a book 5. I will have to look into Jeff VanderMeer's other books, too.
