helenephoebe 's review for:
The Red Queen
by Philippa Gregory
Review - I would put this one on par with 'The White Queen' story-wise, but I did find the characters more intriguing. However, I didn't connect with the characters - I felt disconnected watching from a distance rather than getting involved in the story and invested in the characters like I was in 'Lady of the Rivers'. I think that it was clever to cover only the key periods where there was action, because Margaret was a player for so many years. The thing that really intrigued me was the relationship between Margaret Beaufort and her son, Henry VII - I thought that kept the story moving.
