Glorious Exploits by Ferdia Lennon

Wow. This book has it all.

There is something about this novel that is so enchanting. So often stories are of world saving events, saving the country, etc. etc.. This, by comparison, is relatively low stakes, but to the players in it, it means everything.

This book is just brilliant. In every sense of the word. I cannot think of a single thing I would change about it, except being able to read it for the first time again.

Its a story about friendship, love, war, loss, and gain. About how with true drive, true purpose, there is nothing that can't be done. And also about how even with those, it can still sometimes go to complete shit, and that's ok too.

I could drone on and on about the magnificence of this book. It's endlessly quotable, extremely readable, and completely hilarious, but I will stop myself and just say this; buy the book and read it. It is by far and away the best thing I have read this year. Maybe ever.
