I’ve read quite a few of Dugan’s books, and this one is possibly my favorite of them all. I found myself really feeling the grief both players are experiencing throughout, and felt a connection to them both. I do think June needed a few more redeeming qualities - it’s hard to tell what Ivy saw in her to continue giving chances, when June really did seem to only focus on herself.
