First, the author is mean giving us that ending. Second, this book would have been so much better if it just focused on Isla and her boys instead of going back to the perspective of Alistair, the witch, and the Unseelie face.

Juggling the strange perspectives make the time in the book strange and chapters end up backtracking. It just would have been better if it was more consistent.
