I’m very picky with my slow burn books but with a lot of tension in this book from both sides made this slow burn work.Though the push and pull did get a bit tiring. Don’t expect anything to happen between the couple until 70% in.
Grumpy/ sunshine
I enjoyed both characters and felt for them . It kept my attention and I couldnt stop reading till the early hours.
Loved the band dynamic and I’m really interested in Jax story.
The biggest thing that brought it down a star was the misunderstanding. It was stereotypical of the romance genre. Heroine not telling hero about a bad guy and trying to deal with it. Hero finding out and being mad/not trusting. It felt a bit silly.
I feel like if you have a slow burn there is no need for a third act break up. We already had the tension of the build up. Let’s not just throw in drama for the sake of it.
Content warnings: Mentions of cancer, mentions of abandonment, mentions of suicide, mentions of drug abuse
