Found in a charity shop and clearly I wasn’t about to leave it there. Once upon a time (meaning pre-Internet), this must have been a wonderful resource to stumble across. By now, however, it’s showing it’s age in terms of everything from its decidedly antediluvian attitudes to LGBTQ people to the literal take on the “burning times” to the detailed opinions on absolutely everything...It’s easy to forget in the midst of Weinstein, Trump, Farage et al that a lot of social norms from the 80s have genuinely changed. Anyway, it is what it is, many people took a great deal from it and I suspect the Farrars would write a very different book where they to tackle this again.
