this was a super fun coming of age novel, I've heard it be compared to tschick, but it definitely has its own spin, it's just the roadtrip and the running away from home that is similar. i enjoyed how the author portrayed the main characters struggle with poverty (unlike some other german authors ... ) and i loved the last 25-40% of the book! the first half was relatively slow and i know it was used to build the characters and the setting and to help the main character grow but i just wished certain scenes were a little faster or shorter? i wouldve loved to have more of the roadtrip. overall just super fun, i loved the audiobook and the narrator and the pov made it super immersive, especially because she had a younger voice
