I thought this was really interesting. The preface for the manga explains some of the ways sexuality and gender are talked about differently in Japan, which helped me better understand some of the topics covered in the manga. Mostly, as a nonbinary person who is 35, I liked reading about the experiences of someone who is 50 with a gender identity outside the binary. The author's younger partner is featured throughout, and I liked getting his POV too. Overall, I liked the perspective, hearing about other peoples' experiences, and relating to some of the topics (especially about gender presentation, transitioning, etc). Also, the tip about visiting a private hot springs is much appreciated! I went to Japan in 2016 and was too nervous to go to any public baths (which to use? and I have tattoos!). Really, it made me think a lot about my experiences in Japan - like when the airport worker thought I was my friend's son! (we're the same age lol) - and kind of reevaluate things. FYI, I totally want to go back to Japan and this time keep what I've learned in this manga in mind.
