Interesting premise. Famous ice hockey player Gunnar loses his wife and 2 small children in a tragic car accident. To deal with his grief he escapes to a cabin in the woods for over a year. Once the initial fog clears he starts sending daily newsy text messages to his wife's phone as a way of keeping her with him. One day he receives a message back.
His wife's phone number has been recycled and now belongs to Sadie a kind and friendly girl who can see the pain and longing this unknown man has for his late wife and offers to be a listening ear.
I love the setups that have relationships via text or letter, particularly when the people are a mystery to each other.
This book was great. It takes a lot for Gunnar to open up his heart. He has so much emotional stuff to work through and Sadie has a lot going on in her own life with an incredibly demanding boss, an incarcerated swindler father and guardianship of her 12 year old half-sister who wants absolutely nothing to do with her.
This book contains descriptive love scenes.
