Dashing Through the Snow by Mary Higgins Clark

3.0

Another crossover book for Clark and Clark involving beloved characters Jack and Regan Reilly and Alvirah and Willy Meehan. As usual, there's a lot going on, much of it madcap. Regular readers should enjoy.
A group of employees in a small town have won the lottery. In an act of generosity, they decide to share the ticket with their coworker Duncan because, even though he didn't contribute, he picked their last number. And it turns out to be a wonderful thing because the owner of the store's new wife is a dud, yelling at long-time employees and even convincing the usually magnanimous store owner to give his employees pictures instead of the usual year-end bonuses. They can all quit in peace.
At the same time, Duncan is going over to his financial advisors' house because he's upset their advice has steered him so wrongly. While there, he overhears them discussing the fact that they bilked him out of $5,000. Upset, he hides but ends up breaking his leg which causes him not only to miss the news about the lottery, but to miss his girlfriend, Flower, as well.
And poor Flower, she overhears another plot and gets kidnapped... did I mention the madcap nature of this story?
