Heir in Exile by Danielle Bourdon

3.0

After having read 3 books of this saga, I just realized something pretty major: If these books ever got made into movies, you could totally make a drinking game out of them! It'd go like this: you drink every time someone on the movie is drinking, and if there's two or more people drinking at the same time, you drink double, or whatever. And you know what? With how much everyone drinks in these things you'd be smashed half-way through the movie! But, seriously. Isn't it a bit disturbing how often drinking is mentioned? And the time of day doesn't even matter! It can be nine in the morning or three in the afternoon and they'll have a tumbler in their hands. It's not as if I don't drink, but at least when I do it's dark outside.
As for the plot, it was full of twists and turns and unearthed secrets that changed everything. Same old, same old. The only thing that wasn't really a shock was
Spoiler Chey's pregnancy (which I'm totally excited about)
. And Mattias was back!! That was awesome! I really missed him in the last book. But where was Wynn? Didn't even get mentioned.
Other things that made the book pretty good
Spoiler The long lost heir, Laud (weird name BTW). The king's suicide (a major shocker). Sander being a bastard (another major shocker). The people demanding the bastard be named King (not a shocker at all). Among other things
.
