Watership Down is a story surrounding a group of rabbits trying to find a new home while surviving the many threats of the world that goes after them, including other rabbits. I never watched the movie, but I know of it from plenty of people talking about it online. So I decided to give this classic a shot.
Boy I really had a hard time reading it physically. It felt like I would read for an hour or hour and a half, but barely make any progress. It's hard to explain, but I'm a decently fast reader and this felt like a slog. It was much easier as an audiobook for me. I do like the themes of the story, the epics of the world, and how dark it can get. It isn't a bad story, it was just a bit of a slog for me. But I see why it has become a classic! Just not a favorite for me, personally.
