Ahsoka
by E.K. Johnston
I loved Star Wars as a kid, I love Star Wars as an adult. I love seeing my kids love Star Wars. But it is only by reading the few Star Wars books I have lately that I have really started to appreciate Star Wars as more than just great and entertaining movies. It is largely through the books that I am able to view the entirety of the Star Wars saga for the deeper metaphors and allegories that are woven into the narrative.
In this novel, Johnson does a great job presenting the depth of Ahsoka's personality and the challenges one faces when trying to deal with life changing events. Yes it is done in some relatively straightforward ways, but at the same time that doesn't make the story any less potent. It is tough for me to be objective with this story, so I won't try. I loved the story, and I want more.
