This beautiful regency romance is about Christopher, a “gentleman of unusual make” (i.e. trans man), who in classic regency romance fashion is in need of a wife to secure his inheritance and title. Only he has no interest in marrying a woman and the valet he hires to attend to him (as one must do if he’s to be seen in proper London society) is dangerously handsome and getting a bit too close for comfort. He has kept many details of his life secret for so long, will he finally be able to open up to someone, and not only make a much needed friend, but find love? (hint, this is a romance book, so….)

I read this book in one day and it made me cry multiple times. Some were tears of sadness and some were tears of joy! SO BEAUTIFUL! I love it when people get to be who they want to be surrounded by love and acceptance and joy. There is some discussion of the main character's fear of being discovered by society as trans, but overall this is a joyful book that does not deal with major transphobia or violence.
