I need a moment to sit with this book I think. If I wasn't annoying about cannibalism in literature, I sure will be after this. Perhaps an odd book for me to choose to get back into reading.

Pros
- well written descriptions about processes that took place during the Transition
- honestly just did a good job of being about what was stated in the blurb. Was dystopian. Was horror to some extent. Definitely not something I would show my younger brother. I think that is a good thing.

Cons
- The protagonist is never referred to with his name, other than through dialogue. To me, it made it seem rather clunky because I wasn't able to differentiate between characters. A rather odd stylistic choice.
- Extremely dubious consent ???
- why was there an entire chapter about teenagers killing puppies

The ending caught me very off guard. I dub Marcos as rather unreliable. Although I feel as if he was right for believing the virus was a lie. There was definitely hints to his intention with Jasmine, but my GOD I did not expect Cecilia's reaction to Jasmine's death.

Would read this again. Just give me a year or two.
