I've never read a book that the author purposely tried to make you dislike, if not hate,  every character they write... but it worked. I've never really thought about it until reading this book,  but this one made me realize how I prefer character over plot- driven stories. 

There is a lot of gross stuff including cannibalism, incest, (r)ape, and any other type of debauchery the author could imagine. I liked it but I see why a lot of people hated it.
