This first book in the Scot Harvath series by Brad Thor is a suspenseful spy thriller about the kidnapping of the president of the United States. Harvath, the main character, is a secret service agent who feels responsible and decides to strike out on his own to get the president back. There are many exciting chase scenes and Thor puts a lot of great plot twists into the story. Overall I found it very enjoyable, although Thor does have some slightly irritating writing quirks. However, for a first novel these were not too frequent or problematic, and overall I greatly enjoyed it. I've already bought the next two.
