I have to admit that I had a lot of expectations concerning this book since so many people talked about how amazing the grishaverse is and how it's the best book serie, so I went into it with that it mind and I must admit that it was fairly enjoyable, I didn't loved it but since it's only the first volume I won't judge the fame the serie is getting from this volume alone.
The characters were pretty cool, I especially liked Genya, she was really sweet.
The concept of the story is pretty interesting as well and I'm definitely curious about what will happen next.
I feel like not that much happened in the book but at the same time a lot of things happened, I think it's just because I read it super fast like 100 pages a day and also because there wasn't that much action it was more like setting the story and the world.
I have to admit that at the very beginning I thought that Mal and Alina were siblings..
Don't blame me, they were both put at the orphanage together I got confused lmao.

Alright so everyone was talking about the Darkling and I've seen a few fanart of him, being on booktok and booksta I had to come across some fanarts and stuff and a lot of people are lowkey simps for him, I was disappointed when I discovered that he was the bad guy of the story and that he was a literal asshole, I don't like him and don't understand why everyone does but I guess I have 2 other volumes to read.
For a moment near the end I really thought that Mal would die, I appreciate him and his relationship with Alina, I was satisfied to know that he made it alive in the end.
